Waking Up In A Rainbow

Galerie Camille from May 11th to June 28th welcomes the exhibition Waking Up In a Rainbow, featuring Jef Bourgeau and Jessica Hopkins.

Since 1981, Jef Bourgeau has eaten the brains and guts of the first hundred years of abstraction - only to transpose it all back onto canvas in new and playful ways as he drags and drops, scans, compresses and unpacks, crashes and reboots. - Jerry Saltz, NYC art critic Hopkins’ collages present surreal landscapes, that get your neurons firing in all sorts of crazy, trippy patterns. You become a stranger in a strange land where even ordinary things (the T-Rex not withstanding) appear to have an aura of amplified intensity. That aspect makes collage fun. And art should be fun, at least sometimes… preferably often. These pieces created by Ms. Hopkins are delicious and delightful – and fun. -Jim Welke, Artifizz
